A Dangerous Presence.

Owlstar laid leisurely on the High Branch. His large amber eyes gazed warmly around the clearing as his growing clan bustled about. Everyone seemed so close, so happy. Like one huge family. Suddenly, a cold wind whipped into camp. It stung Owlstar like claws. He stood abruptly, his eyes narrowing at the darkening sky. Everyone in camp halted to look up. Tiny white specks began to flutter down, landing on Owlstar's nose."Snow?" He asked in disbelief. The winter had been very mild, and Owlstar had hoped they wouldn't have any trouble. The snow began coming harder and harder as the wind whipped furiously.

All the clan-members began to retreat to their dens. Owlstar backed into his den as well. He had never seen such a snowstorm in all the moons he had lived. He bit the blade of tied grass that held lichen from his den, so that it fell over the entrance and blocked out the snow and wind. He went to his warm nest in the far corner, staring at the entrance to his den in shock.

~~~
It was unbelievable. Owlstar was almost stuck inside his den from the massive amount of snow in front of it. He managed to slip out, the cold piercing his pads sharply. The entire camp was blanketed in thick white snow. Seasonbreeze emerged from the warriors den, peeking her head out from the wall of snow. She pulled herself out, standing on top of the snow. It had frozen over. She and Owlstar shared a worried glance."The prey amount will plummet now!" Owlstar mewed in concern. The rest of the clan-mates slowly emerged, looking around in wonder."Cherrycloud." Owlstar carefully climbed down from the High Branch instead of leaping, in order to avoid breaking the frozen cover over the snow."Take Dawnfoot and Crescentpelt on a border patrol. She how badly the territory has been affected.
Cherrycloud nodded, leading the other two warriors out of camp carefully. Owlstar gazed at the rest of his clan, who all seemed as concerned as he did. He bit his lip, padding back towards the HighBranch. He sat at it's base, watching the entrance anxiously. Surprisingly, he heard pounding paws comes towards camp. Cherrycloud and the others raced in, their eyes wide."What's wrong? You just left!" Owlstar stood, his eyes narrowed with concern. Cherrycloud gasped for breath."B-badgers! Their going to Memory Forest!" Owlstar gasped.
"Badgers! Now?!" Dawnfoot nodded."There's a whole family, a mother and father with two cubs." Crescentpelt then stepped forward."They may not disturb us, but the mother with be particularly violent to defend her cubs." Owlstar contemplated this."We'll have to be careful." Owlstar climbed up onto the HighBranch, shoving the powdering snow just enough so he could address his clan."Mysteryclan!" He yowled, although everyone had gathered already."It seems we've had a huge snowstorm. We must not let this weigh heavily upon our clan."
Owlstar's eyes continued to flit nervously."Cherrycloud, we'll need double hunting patrols for now. And everyone, be sure to stay away from Memory Forest. Perhaps the badgers will leave when the weather lets up." The clan nodded together."Alright, meeting dismissed." Owlstar called, his voice faltering on his last word.
(Okay, so wondering, should we have a prophecy after this dilemma is fixed?)
Sandclaw turned to Hollypaw. "What herbs have we collected so far?" he asked her.
(Why didn't u add my new cats?)
Cherrycloud looked out at the clan. "Let's have Cresentpelt with Darkfrost and his apprentice. Then I'll lead one with Hazelberry and Sunflash. Finally, Seasonbreeze, you can pick who you want to go with." She dipped her head respectfully to the more experienced warrior, then gathered her patrol.
Crescentpelt blinked, and then gestured to Darkfrost and Stellarpaw. "Let's go," he mewed, bounding through the snow and into the forest.
~Crescentpelt
Stellarpaw shivered. How could it get so cold, so fast?
Shadowpaw shook snow off her white paws, irritated that it was so sticky.
(SOrry! didn't know you added new cats!)
Seasonbreeze gazed around the camp, debating on who she should take with her."Leaffrost and Silentpaw, come with me." She called. Her voice was serious, but she tried to smile. She just hoped the snow and badgers wouldn't impact Mysteryclan greatly.
Owlstar waited until all of the patrols left."Everyone, we must work on enforcing our camp and making it more efficient."I want warriors to work on strengthening our barriers. Apprentices, find a place to keep our prey where it will stay dry."
Silentpaw padded over to her mentor.
Hollypaw sneezed as a snow flake landed on her nose, "Not many, we have a few herbs, but not enough." She sneezed again, the sudden cold had irritated her nose, she looked at her mentor with green eyes, "All the herbs are probably dead, if not dying."
(Sure, have a prophecy. It'll spice things up. :P)
Shadowpaw narrowed her eyes, her brain setting eagerly to work on the problem. She smiled as an idea came to her quickly. "Do we have any caves anywhere?" she asked Owlstar. "It doesn't have to be big, and if we don't we can build one out of dead branches or something. It'll keep the prey sheltered and nice and dry," she mewed happily.
Crescentpelt ran through the forest. It was eerily silent, and the snow coated everything in a white blanket that winked innocently in the sunlight. Cold air whisted down Crescentpelt's throat, and he fought the urge to cough. "Scent anything?" he mewed to Darkfrost and Stellarpaw.
~Crescentpelt
Stellarpaw frowned. "No," she mewed to her brother.
Hazelberrys tail twitched as she heard her name being called, and she padded over to the rest of the group.
"Why does she get to go on a patrol? I'm a far better hunter than her!" Blackberry snorted, not wanting to stay in camp all day.
Hazelberry dismissed her sisters words with a wave of her tail. "You can do something helpful while I'm gone, other than your endless moping." She hissed.
Sandclaw nodded solemnly. "We'll have to try and stay in our dens as much as possible. Otherwise, cats will get sick and we won't have enough herbs.
Dawnfoot shoot her thick pelt and stretched. "Hope I can go out hunting," she said to her brother. "Seeing those badgers shook me up pretty bad."
Sandclaw shook his head. "Why don't you help me and Hollypaw clear out the snow from in front of the Medicine Den?" he suggested/ commanded.
Dawnfoot mentally rolled her eyes, but started sweeping snow away from the den.
Hollypaw sneezed gain and started pushing snow away from the den.
(Wait, so should it be DURING the dilemma, or AFTER? I would prefer after, so that the prophecy would have a more tragic problem, but what do you guys think?)
Seasonbreeze looked down at Silentpaw. She then turned her icy eyes back up to find Leaffrost.
Owlstar nodded at Shadowpaw."Good idea! We have no caves in camp though besides the dens. It would be best if one was made."
(i'm cool either way...CAN U MAKE THE NEW POST SOON???)
Silentpaw followed her mentor.
(Eh! Don't ask me! There is a competition to get in. I'm only gonna have three, and so far everyone that's asked only wants she-cat apprentices. XP And patience, grasshopper. I need time to add the new post.)
(Lol. XD I might add another cat soon :D )
Sandclaw walked over to Dawnfoot. "Don't worry. The snow will probably melt soon, so you'll be able to hunt again. No cat can hunt with snow this high." he told her. He looked at Hollypaw with concern. "Are you alright Hollypaw? You've been sneezing since last night; I don't want you getting sick." he told her.
(joined as another cat, a tom apprentice)
Leaffrost was reluctant to go over to Seasonbreeze. She didn't like be ordered around and knew that in this weather with her white pelt she had the advantage over all. Still she padded forward, her hackles raised slightly.
Brackenpaw bound around camp, sending showers of snow all over her brown tabby pelt. "Oh! How about we put prey under the roots of this tree!" She dug down a bit, finding a dark hallow.
